Meet Our Grad: Gemma Boyd, State Sales Manager at Contiki

Hear from our successful Flight Centre Travel Academy graduate Gemma, who is now working as the State Sales Manager for Queensland with Contiki.

After initially not being offered a role with Flight Centre when applying a couple of years ago, the very next day Gemma enrolled in Flight Centre Travel Academy.

"While I was doing the course, I had just fell in love with travel. I already knew I was passionate about it, but I had never been so sure that all I wanted to do was travel," Gemma says of her time studying our Diploma of Travel and Tourism.

Gemma was lucky enough to actually move to London while she was studying and complete our course while she was abroad. After spending some time overseas, Gemma came back to Australia and re-applied for the same job in Flight Centre she was previously unsuccessful in. This time, Gemma "smashed" her application!

She went on to work for Flight Centre and has since worked her way up to a fantastic position with Contiki.

Gemma also touches on what it is like to work in the travel industry now during the COVID-19 pandemic, and specifically what Contiki is doing during this time.

"I don't think it's any secret that the travel industry is going to be different, but I feel confident that we are going to be coming out stronger," Gemma says.
