Student Stories: Meet Anthea Verdoorn

For former FCTA student Anthea Verdoorn, a career change was in order. She followed her heart and decided to study what she loved most: travel! Anthea now works as a travel consultant at Flight Centre Indooroopilly. Here's what she said about her journey with the Flight Centre Travel Academy. 



"I've always had a passion for travel and a love of experiencing new cultures, immersing myself in everything a new country has to offer. After deciding to follow a new career path and pursue my love of travel, I enroled at the Flight Centre Travel Academy.

Our class was openly told about the opportunities available to us within the Flight Centre Travel Group, including how the course would quickly show us if we were a suitable candidate for the roles on offer.

I found this incredibly reassuring, as the thought of flying solo having to network and apply for jobs after completing my Diploma seemed quite daunting.

After completing my first term, I received great feedback from my trainers and was invited to apply a job with Flight Centre.

Within a week of sending my application, I received a call offering me a full-time position as a travel consultant at Flight Centre Indooroopilly!

I had no idea the process would be nearly as quick and wasn't expecting such an exciting opportunity so early on.

I can honestly say that the Travel Academy deliver exactly what they promise. They are not only exceptional to work with, but genuinely care about your success within the company!
