Tourism Industry Jobs Back on the Rise

The recently released September 2020 SEEK Employment Report saw some positive news for jobs in the tourism sector, as well as an overall growth in all jobs advertised nationally.

While job ads overall are still down in prior year, month-on-month comparisons show a strong positive growth of 9.2% in ads nationwide.

“Topping the list of industries contributing the most to growth in jobs listed on seek.com.au is Hospitality & Tourism,” said said Kendra Banks, Managing Director, SEEK ANZ.

“This industry has seen the highest number of jobs increase on-site from August to September with a 41% increase in new jobs advertised.”

Kendra indicated the recovery is closely linked to the easing of restrictions, plus businesses preparing for the summer and Christmas holiday period.

Fingers, toes, all other body parts, crossed for continued good news on the job front for tourism (and all industries)!
